Jordan’s top four finish at the IAAF World Challenge

UC Ginninderra Athletics Club’s Jordan Gusman finished fourth on Saturday morning in the 1500m Final at the IAAF World Challenge event in Madrid Spain. Jordan was only just pipped for the Bronze Medal by Federico Bruno of Argentina by two tenths of a second. The Kenyans took the top two places on the podium.

Jordan’s time of 3:38.74 was just outside his PB of 3:37.97 that he set earlier in June also in Spain at the Huelva Meeting Iberoamericano de Atletismo.

Jordan has been representing Australia on his Summer European tour with athlete assistance provided by the UC Tigers. Jordan is the current Club Record Holder in the 1500m, Mile and the 5000m.

The IAAF World Challenge is an annual global circuit of fourteen one day athletics competitions organized by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). Started in 2010 it replaced the IAAF Grand Prix and features athletes hoping to qualify for the World Championships and the IAAF Diamond League competition.

Next month Jordan will compete alongside Rachel Tallent and Bryce Anderson in the Australian World Universiade team in Taipei (CHN) on 19-30 August, 2017.
