The ACT are sending a team to the 48th International Children’s Games, to be held from December 6th to December 11th, 2014 in Lake Macquarie, NSW, Australia.
It is the 48th time this event has been run since 1968 and the first time it is to be held in the southern hemisphere. There will be 1100 athletes competing, representing 79 cities from around 30 countries. There will be around 350 track and field athletes competing.
As determined by the ICG athletics teams are limited to 12 individual athletes only. A maximum number of 6 girls and 6 boys were selected to represent the ACT in the Games.
Ginninderra Athlete Chichi was selected to compete in the 100m, Long Jump and the 4x100m Relay, her Tigers’ team mate Lauren is also in the relay as well as the 800m, while our only male competitor Joshua will compete in the 100m and the Relay.
