The Ginninderra Athletics Club Internship Program provides an opportunity for individuals who express an interest in exploring career opportunities in the field of strength and conditioning, sports coaching, physiotherapy, sports medicine or sports marketing to gain insight and on-the-job learning in a variety of areas within Athletics (track and field).
Ginninderra Athletics Club is a leader in innovation, development and inclusiveness. In 2016 the club won the inaugural Minister for Sport and Recreation’s Award for Innovation. The Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of Canberra’s top athletes and teams, while also recognising those behind-the-scenes special contributors that make our local sporting community so great.
Interning with GAC will provide you with a first class family- athlete experience, serve as a source of pride for the UC and community, and cultivate UC graduates who excel as leaders. You will observe and even help assist in the training of athletes at the youth (from 3 years), primary, high school, university and masters levels.
There are five internship options:
- Sports performance
- Sports strength and conditioning
- Junior sports coaching and development
- Sports event management
- Sports administration and team management
