The long Jetty that is located at The Promenade, Emu Inlet on Lake Ginninderra also once featured a building on the site.
Ginninderra House, the former Belconnen Water Police Station was demolished in 2017 and was put up for sale in the 2016/17 Land Release Program by the ACT Government. The site was sold under the existing Territory Plan CZ6: Leisure and Accommodation zoning which includes a two-storey height limit. The site excluded the existing mature trees south of Evelyn Parker Place, the retaining wall around the lake edge, the jetty and boat ramp. These will remain as Territory Land and be publicly accessible. Any future development will be required to provide continuous public access around the lake edge.
The public opinion at the time was that 1000 square metres of space along Lake Ginninderra near the Belconnen Town Centre could be transformed into a boutique entertainment precinct, subject to a future development application.
Before it was demolished, Ginninderra House became the home and hackerspace for Make Hack Void. The Belconnen Community Council and the Ginninderra Sea Scouts hosted an Open Day to the Public before the site was demolished.
